Survey Sample 1 — City Bicycle Path Study

Problem on Hand

The Mayor of your city is thinking of asking the city council to vote funds for the development of a system of bicycle paths throughout the community. Before doing so, he felt that he should determine the percentage of bicycle owners and non-owners in favour of developing a system of bicycle paths.

Purpose

To determine if enough bicycle owners and non-owners are in favour of the development of a bicycle path system.

Questions asked

  1. 1.Do you own a bicycle? (Yes / No)
  2. 2.Will you please indicate the degree to which you agree or disagree: “A system of bicycle paths should be developed in our community?” (Strongly agree / Somewhat agree / Undecided / Somewhat disagree / Strongly disagree)
