Human development requires greater attention to be paid to the problems of employment, poverty reduction, empowerment of the weaker and underprivileged sections of the society, greater participation by the people in the process of growth and long-term sustainability. Human development is based on the idea that education and health are integral to human well-being because only when people have the ability to read and apply their knowledge to derive maximum benefit will they be able to lead a long and healthy life.
